How Congress Really Works
In our system of government, the Congress (Senate and House) is supposed to represent the people of the nation and their interests.  Here a picture of the Senate floor: Here are some of those visiting citizens that this governmental body is supposed to represent: Here is my interpretation of what is actually going on: Yeah, I know it’s cynical to think like this, but other than a...

Read Daemon And Freedom™ →
I want those glasses, I want society to be based on up and down ranking people like you do on YouTube, I want to get away from this cracked system we have where everyone thinks they have control but really it’s the big money heavy corporations without any ethical attachments to their consumers. Can we start something like this?

Forget The iPad
After looking at the specs, the price, and the OS, I’m thinking the iPad is not for me.  I thought about it, but I guess I just don’t think an overzealous iPhone (which I have and love) without a camera isn’t worth it to me. Instead, give me the Lenovo IdeaPad U1 hybrid.  Yeah, it runs Windows 7 on the base, but the tablet is all Linux.  Multitouch, innate browser and photo...

WatchWatch
Apple Tablet announced by McGraw-Hill?  I have a feeling someone is going to get sued over this one.

WatchWatch
My brother made this, and while I’ve posted it everywhere else, I haven’t yet sent it out here.  He made it with a Canon T1i with its HD video feature.  I really want to get my hands on that camera or the D7.

Rain, Rain, go Away
I moved to Arizona because they told me they had 360 days of sunshine per year and it only rained during the monsoon in the late summer.  It’s been raining since 11:30 or so last night and is supposed to continue on through tomorrow. I feel lied to, I feel cheated, I feel like going home and curling up with the pups under the covers and putting on a good movie.  The problem with that is the...

Social Icons
Look, I finally added some social icons to this darn blog thingy.  I could have added more, but I thought I’d just add the ones for the sites I actually use.  I mean, sure, I have a last.fm account, but I haven’t logged into it in about a year, so why bother.

Freelancing Again
I’m thinking of stepping out of my corporate shell again and getting involved in more freelancing.  I’m already running 3-4 sites including this one and I’ve been writing more often lately.  I think it’s time to start putting my typing skills to work actually making money and not just on updating my own personal sites.  (Though I do plan to keep on top of those still as...

The Word "Adorable"
One of my friends told me that a guy she was interested in told her she was “adorable” when he was drunk one night.  Let me just say that the word “adorable” should never be uttered by a man in context to a women except under the following circumstances: That woman is your daughter, niece, or otherwise related to you and at least a generation younger The woman and her...

Is it too Geeky that I want this? →
It’s a bluetooth enabled ring with an OLED screen for texts and caller ID that turns into a headset.  Oh, and it’s waterproof too.  If it weren’t starting at $175 (MSRP) I’d so be getting one on whatever day they decide to release it.

AFI Top 100
I watch a lot of movies.  I mean a lot.  On a typical night I’ll go through either 5 episodes of whatever television show I’m getting from Netflix, or 2 movies, and sometimes both. Recently I’ve been watching a lot of Independent (indie) movies, and I’ve realized that most of them are referencing films I’ve never seen and some I’ve never heard of before.  So...

12 Feet Long?
I watch the TED talks on my iPhone and I was just listening to one from TED India.  Apparently king cobras can grow up to 12 ft. long, and they only feed on other snakes. So the fact that they bite people is only a defensive mechanism.  This reminds me of the short story Riki Tiki Tavi (one of my dad’s favorites, and now one of mine) from the Jungle Book, by Rudyard Kipling.  I guess he was...
